The earth is comprised of two thirds water. There are beaches throughout the globe, all the way from South Africa to England to Australia to Croatia. And there are nine beaches in Antarctica. It is safe for us to say that there are beaches all over the world. There's a place for all.
When you hear "beach", most people think of sunny, warm beaches with palm trees and refreshing cocktails. A beach ball, a suit and plenty of leisure time are all that's needed. Beaches can take many shapes. They can be white, pink or even pebbled. They are home to many marine creatures.
With so many options the options for planning a vacation at the beach can seem overwhelming. A smart place to start is to determine how far you want to travel, and the type of beach you'd like to visit and how long you'll be there. A long weekend at a tropical beach, such as Baby Beach on Aruba, takes a quick schedule, doesn't require a lot of packing, and doesn't necessarily involve many excursions, only three days of R&R and rejuvenation as the result! Surfer's Paradise Beach is in Queensland, Australia. This week will most likely be a trip to see the sights as well as a totally unique vacation experience.
Because every continent on the planet has beaches of various types, there is a beach somewhere no too away from where you are. There are many freshwater lakes with beautiful beaches. Think of the beach nearest you and think of "beaching" close to your home for a different kind of vacation.
It's easy to think of beaches as places for sunshine and relaxation, a lazy way of getting tan and forgetting about weather and work. Beaches have their perils and the smart beach-goer will research their options. The Indian Ocean is warm and runs along the stunning beaches of Durban, South Africa. Sharks love these waters. In addition, tides and the undertow are a factor. Cape Blomidon Beach is a sandy crescent that is surrounded by the red cliffs of The Blomidon located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. The tides can be so intense that many individuals have drowned when trying to swim or climb the cliffs. An enjoyable vacation will be possible with safety at the beach.
